Joined Lions Club of Bodhan in 1987. He sworn the tenets of Lionism and has proved himself to be a role model to others.
He served the club as Treasurer in 1990, Secretary in 1995, and as President 1996. He served the District as District Chairman many times, Region Chairman. Several awards came his way and to name few are 100% President’s Excellence Award and Best President. The real reward came in the form of public recognition and popular acclaim which he received from everyone heinteracted with.
A graduate and Diploma holder in Journalism & Co operation, is the CEO of an Agriculture Credit Society. He is a Life member of Indian Red Cross Society and eye Bank Association of India. General Secretary Telengana State PACS Employees Association. President of Bodhan Division PACS; Employees Credit Cooperative Society and is associated with other educational, Social and organizations. He has been honoured by Chief Ministers and Governors of AP for his contribution to the development of Bodhan town. He is a member of DBCS, Nizamabad member of Govt. Degree College, Bodhan in development committee. Former Advisory member of AP Tourism, Nizamabad and Former Member of Area Hospital, Bodhan. Lion Basaveshwara Rao is a visionary. At his credit an eye hospital which he motivated and approached prospective donors to realize the dream in the form of KV Reddy memorial Lions Eye Hospital. The Hospital is now performing about 5000 IOL implantation surgeries every year.Lions Eye Hospital at NIzamabad Performing 2000 IOL Implantation surgeries every year .and established 6 satellite eye screening centers. The Hospital has earned a reputation for quality and commitment.He is recipient of 5 star award for CHALLENGE to GROW, United Service Pin, International President’s Medal, family membership pioneer pin, he is the First Indian to receive LCIF HELPING HANDS AWARD.
Lion Basaveswara Rao is married to Lakshmi and couple are blessed three academically brilliant children – one son Dr Kalyan Chakradhar, MS General Surgeon DNB Surgical Oncology and two daughters Dr Jyotsna MBBS D.G.O (DNB) , and Dr. Keerthi MDS, Daughter-in-law Dr Swrajyam M.D General medicine, son-in-law Dr N. Sridhar M.D General Medicine D.M (nephrology), son-in-law Dr. G.Nagarjuna M.D.S
